Air Nigeria Suspends service for a year

Air Nigeria is ceasing all operations as of Monday the 10th of September 2012, after recently being declared insolvent by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Management claims that this suspension is due to staff disloyalty and environmental tension.

The Chairman of the airline, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim. OFR, is quoted to have stated that "continued investment in the airline would be difficult, given the high level of staff disloyalty and weak business environment". The management of Air Nigeria have expressed their regrets for the inconvenience that this decision will cause their loyal passengers, and have advised passengers to contact the agents that tickets were purchased from and request refunds.

Fifty staff members from various departments within the Airline have been selected, with a mandate to recommence operations within twelve months time, while other staff have been relieved of their employment.

Due to this development, flights with Air Nigeria will no longer be available, until operations recommence.
