Nigeria One Flights

Nigeria One is a proposed national carrier, to be funded by the Federal Government. The airline is hoping to start flights by the end of 2013.


  • 1 October 2013 :

    President Goodluck Jonathan unveils Nigeria One Airline on the 53rd anniversary of Nigeria's independence.

    August 2013 : AMCON (the Asset Management Company of Nigeria) purchases 60% of Aero Contractors.

  • 23 June 2013 : The Minister of Aviation, Princess Stellah Oduah, states that: " The national carrier is currently at the final approval stage". Mr Joyce Daniel Nkemakolam, acting Director-General of the NCAA (Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority), confirmed that plans were underway to prepare the new national carrier for the public. Mr Henry Omeogu, the Director of Airport Operations at FAAN (Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria), states that 30 new aircraft would be acquired for Nigeria One.

  • 27 June 2013Princess Stella Oduah, the Minister of Aviation, assures citizens that Nigeria One will commence operations before the end of September, as the necessary framework for the airline to function is in place and the relevant legal requirements have been met.
